We are delighted to welcome all participants to the 2nd edition of European Alliance for Innovation (EAI) International Conference on Smart Grid Inspired Future Technologies (SmartGIFT). This conference seeks to bring together researchers and practitioners around the world who are leveraging and developing smart grid technology for smarter and more resilient grid. The conference theme is “Smart Grid Inspired Future Technologies: A smarter and more resilient grid”.

The conference will feature a comprehensive program offering keynote speeches, invited talks, technical paper presentations and output demonstrations from a JPI Urban Europe, IRENE to address the new dimension of threats, especially in the critical infrastructures that are highly depending on the availability of electricity for a smarter and more resilient grid. We are confident that you will find the program to be enriching, enlightening and rewarding. The conference will be held on 27th and 28th March 2017 at the Holiday Inn London - Stratford city, London, UK. The venue is situated just within minutes of walking distance from Stratford International rail station, underground and DLR that provide excellent direct access to central London. It is also situated right on the edge of the Olympic park. The social dinner will take place at the “Jamie's Italian” restaurant that beautifully combines exposed steel and high ceilings with intimate marketplace-style dining areas to give the space a true Jamie's Italian feel.

We invite you to participate in the EAI SmartGIFT 2017 program and activities in the lovely city of London and look forward to seeing you there! Last but not least, we would like to thank organizing committee members, EAI authority and reviewers for their contribution in SmartGIFT 2017. In particular, the Technical Program Committee, led by our TPC Co-Chairs, Dr. Jonathan Loo, Dr. Sandford Bessler and Dr. Eng Tseng Lau who have completed the peer-review process of technical papers and made a high-quality technical program.
