Call for Workshop Proposals
Scope & Motivation
The EAI SmartGIFT 2026 Organizing Committee invites proposals for half-day or full-day workshops to be held in conjunction with the main conference.
SmartGIFT 2026 is dedicated to the intersection of Smart Grids and Telecommunications. We are seeking workshops that focus on emerging research areas, disruptive technologies, and specific practical applications that may not be fully covered by the main conference tracks. Workshops should provide a forum for researchers to discuss focused topics, foster new communities, and brainstorm on the future of energy and communication systems.
Topics
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- AI and Machine Learning for Smart Grid resilience.
- 5G/6G applications in Energy Internet.
- Cyber-Physical Security in Industrial Control Systems.
- Blockchain for transactive energy and peer-to-peer trading.
- Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and V2G integration.
Important Dates
To ensure workshop organizers have sufficient time to solicit papers, the proposal timeline is as follows:
- Workshop Proposal Submission: January 5, 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: January 20, 2026
- Workshop Call for Papers Launch: January 25, 2026
Proposal Submission Guidelines
Proposals should be a maximum of 2–3 pages (PDF format) and must include the following:
- Title and Acronym: A concise title for the workshop.
- Organizers: Names, affiliations, short bios, and contact information for the workshop chairs.
- Abstract and Scope: A short description (200 words) suitable for the conference website, and a detailed statement on the technical scope and motivation.
- Topics of Interest: A bulleted list of specific topics the workshop will cover.
- Format: Description of the workshop structure (e.g., invited talks, panel discussions, peer-reviewed paper presentations).
- Potential Committee: A tentative list of TPC members or keynote speakers you plan to invite.
- Draft Call for Papers: A draft version of the CFP you intend to distribute.
Workshop Review and Publication
All accepted workshops will be subjected to the same rigorous peer-review process as the main conference. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted for inclusion in Springer’s LNICST series and indexed in leading databases.
Accepted and presented papers will be published alongside the main conference proceedings as a sub-section/chapter (minimum of 4 registered workshop papers). Paper formats should, therefore, correspond to the templates of the publisher of the main conference.
Workshop chairs are invited to engage with journals and further publication opportunities.
